It has been our experience, that many people become ‘confused’ when they go looking for a trainer..they browse websites, talk to other trainers, and sometimes come away feeling ‘intimidated’ by the whole experience. They either decide it’s not right for them or they decide to try the training on their own.

Although many owners could certainly take on that challenge, and love their dogs enough to try, most find that day to day life gets in the way of ‘good intentions’ and they just have to give it up because of time constraints. Others, feel like they just couldn’t ‘relate’ to the trainers they had spoken to or there were just too many ‘rules’ or as one customer described after finally coming to us...”I didn’t feel like I was in control or that I had any say in my dog...I didn’t feel comfortable leaving my dog.” Start to Finish Gun Dog training UNDERSTANDS TOTALLY where you are coming from if you have these concerns..that’s what makes us UNIQUE.

A typical day for your dog consists of feeding and watering, then indoor yard work drills , and more one on one training and excercise. In addition to those training days, your dog gets regularly exposed to quail, chukar and pheasants at a 6,000 acre shooting preserve located 45 minutes from Colorado Springs and 1 and ½ hours from Denver.

Your bird dog is never bored, and is always kept "on task", working towards our ONE OBJECTIVE as trainers..the FINISHED BIRD DOG. A typical situation for us is the husband who just wants a finished bird dog and is willing to do whatever that takes, and his wife who loves her dog and feels like she’s sending him off to boot camp and ‘how can you do this'? WE understand where both of you are coming from, and we accommodate both of you, from START TO FINISH.

We’ll take all the time you need to answer any questions that you may have about your dog, and more importantly, we enjoy doing it.

If you’re having separation anxiety after leaving your dog, as many owners sometimes do, we bend the rules and make exceptions as long as it does not interfere in the overall progress of your dog’s training program. We do this because we know that is WHAT PEOPLE NEED. We enjoy what we’re doing and our customers have found how easy we are to talk to..they feel at home and unintimidated, as do their dogs.

We work extremely hard at making you feel comfortable with your decision and your investment and we think it just comes’ naturally’ to us, and that’s why we are sought after. Sometimes the best of friends are made over conversations about what we all enjoy the most..Our dogs and our hunting stories.

Start to Finish also handles, trains and owns dogs that compete in the NSTRA Field Trials. That being said, we also know that not every owner is looking for that, nor is every dog geared towards that. Most owners just want a ‘best friend’ in the field..their pointing or flushing dog. A dog that can make their recreation time in the field ‘enjoyable’ and not a nightmare. We understand that too, and our goal everyday is PROVIDING you with that.
